The Downtown Escondido Makeover Continues: Grand Avenue
Construction along Grand Avenue: Sidewalk paving

Construction Updates

Last week, demolition work for subphase 2 was completed and the project is now moving forward to the next step in this phase.

  • Through traffic is closed from Juniper to Broadway.
  • Pedestrian access to businesses will remain available.
  • Pedestrians must use only designated walkways, as portions of the construction site may have hazardous conditions.

Subphase 1 sidewalk paving will be completed this week. Full access to the new pedestrian walkways from Juniper to Kalmia will be open before Thanksgiving. Once the sidewalk construction is completed, outdoor fencing for restaurants will be custom-fabricated. Updates on installation will be available soon.
