On June 25, 2024, at 09:08, North Comm Dispatch received a call stating a mountain biker was having a medical emergency on a trail at Lake Dixon. Units were dispatched and proceeded to multiple entrance points at Daley Ranch to attempt to locate and treat the patient. A City of Escondido Park Ranger located the patient and confirmed he was in CPR status. With assistance from the Escondido Police Department and the Escondido Park Rangers, fire crews were escorted to the area and hiked approximately 1 mile into the scene. Advanced life support measures were initiated during the trial.
San Diego Sheriff's Office Astrea helicopter and Cal Fire Copter 10 also assisted in locating and transporting the patient to Palomar Hospital. In all, three fire engines, two ambulances, four Chief Officers, and two helicopters responded to the incident.
