Escondido, CA – The Escondido Writer's Group is proud to announce its annual Writing Competition, celebrating the intellectual and creative accomplishments of writers in the San Diego region. Aspiring and seasoned writers are invited to submit their short stories (excluding poetry) between January 2 and January 30, 2025.
The competition is open to individuals aged 18 and older, providing a platform to showcase creativity and storytelling skills. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries:
- 1st Place: $100
- 2nd Place: $50
- 3rd Place: $25
Winners will be announced on February 18, 2025.
Submission Guidelines
- Stories must be typed or in electronic format.
- Maximum word count: 2,500 words.
- Formatting: Double-spaced, with one-inch margins.
- Include a separate cover sheet with the story title, your name, phone number, and email address.
- The story title should appear on each page without the writer’s name.
- Submit the cover sheet and the short story in separate files

Participants may submit their entries in person at the Escondido Public Library Information Desk during business hours or email them to tanyarossauthor@gmail.com.
