Escondido, CA— During the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the Escondido Public Library proudly served as a pivotal community resource, offering cultural enrichment, educational programming, and essential services to residents. This year, the library helped save patrons approximately $12 million, a powerful testament to its commitment to providing free and accessible resources to all.
Reflecting Escondido’s diverse needs, the library expanded its bilingual and multicultural offerings, hosted over 1,300 free events, and strengthened partnerships with more than 35 organizations. Noteworthy events, such as Día de los Muertos and Nowruz celebrations, highlighted the library's role as a cultural connector, bridging communities through shared experiences.
To address modern educational needs, the library significantly enhanced its STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programs, empowering young learners through coding, robotics, and more. EPL also supported job seekers and small businesses with resume workshops, legal advice sessions, and a well-attended career fair that connected local talent with employers.
With 264,976 visits and 591,755 checkouts, the Escondido Public Library remains a crucial hub for learning, discovery, and economic support. "We are proud to enrich lives and save our patrons time and resources while fostering an inclusive, informed community," said Library Director Rino Landa.
