On October 25, 2024 at approximately 2:04PM, units from the Escondido Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Ingleside Place in the City of Escondido. The first arriving Engine Company reported smoke coming from the back of the residence.
Firefighters entered the structure and found a fire in the kitchen with significant heat and smoke throughout the home. The fire was quickly extinguished and isolated to the kitchen. Firefighters performed extensive salvage and overhaul operations in an attempt to limit smoke and water damage.
A family of three was displaced due to the fire. A California Firefighter’s Foundation SAVE card was presented to the family to assist with immediate needs. There were no injuries to civilians or Firefighters. Unfortunately, the family’s dog perished in the fire.
Units from San Marcos Fire Department responded to assist along with SDG&E, and the San Diego Humane Society.
The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated by members of the Escondido Fire Department Prevention Division.
